This piece was introduced to me by Eric and Leslie, who had been planning to play it with a clarinetist, as it is originally scored.

Lucky for me, the clarinetist ended up moving away, and when I asked Eric to play an opera themed recital program, he suggested we also do this piece.

It’s such a beautiful and expressive piece. I love the way the parts interact with each other, and I get to act a bit like a singer.

Just a few more days to the recital. We have been practicing nearly every day- they have been asking me to rehearse more just for the joy of playing music together. How cool is that! I love it so much.

The clarinet part transcribed for flute will be available on my website soon- I just need to check the part with another edition of the score.
