I finished this arrangement in the wake of my recital, over two months ago. I thought I would arrange the whole work, but ended up doing on other things. Anyway, the first movement is almost 11 minutes, and makes a great self-contained piece!

This piece is really fun and charming. The two original flute parts are unchanged, but have extra parts (indicated by smaller notation) to fill out the interludes. It’s really kind of a marathon, because in a small ensemble like this, you don’t get much rest.

I had a lot of fun working on this arrangement with Jessica Schury and Hyeyeon Kim. There’s nothing like hearing your arrangements played live by excellent musicians 🙂 It always sounds quite a bit different than the midi from the notation software.
